The Boutiques

Spotlight On:

With over 30 years of design and business experience, owner Batia introduced the first Italian and Israeli-inspired boutique in NYC. Here, classic sophistication meets European chic with an exclusive selection of Italian-made clothing, shoes and bags.

What inspired you to open your boutique?

My main inspiration for opening Baci Boutique in New York City was the city itself. NYC is a very fashion-forward, cosmopolitan city that lives and breathes fashion. Back in the ‘80s, I had my own design showroom and the thought of opening up a store was an organic next step.

How did you get the name Baci?

My name is Batia and Baci became my nickname because of the fact that I was often in Italy for business and in the Italian language, Baci means Kisses!

What are your goals?

My goal is to introduce to the American public a unique sense of Italian fashion at affordable prices. We have total exclusivity of all designs and brands that we sell in the U.S.

Describe your collection in three words.

Urban, Italian, Chic.

How would you describe the typical Baci customer?

A strong, fashion-forward and worldly woman in her 20s to 70s. She’s a woman who appreciates quality fabrics and one-of-a-kind designs.

What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion is my life. It’s my everything!
