When did you start blogging?
I started many years ago with a friend, because at the time most bloggers were posting about very expensive items that most readers couldn't afford in real life. We wanted to show that you could have as much style with cheaper pieces, similar to the ones you would actually shop! Then this friend decided she didn't want to blog anymore and I started another blog with my then boyfriend. We were sharing our clothes and taking pictures of the resulting androgynous looks. Then finally when we broke up I started my own blog. I think at the beginning I was happier to keep it as a shared project, not to be alone in front of the camera. It's a rather strange idea to post pictures of yourself! You have to get used to it.
And are you comfortable with this idea today?
Yes now I am, thanks to the confidence my readers gave me. At the beginning, and for a very long time, I was not mentioning my blogging to anyone, even my family and my close friends didn't know anything about it! It was still the case until very recently, but I don't mind when some find out. Some fellow students did because they saw me on TV. Because it happened that way, it was fine, they already knew me and didn't have that image of an egocentric girl posting pictures of herself all day. They were very positively surprised!
How do you like Paris compared to Bordeaux?
I liked Bordeaux but now that I moved, I realize how much people were right when they said much more was happening in Paris. Here it's non stop, events, contacts from fashion designers, brands, fellow bloggers... I've been extremely busy here, I'm working as a community manager and at the same time I make a point of keeping up with my blog, where I post something new at least every two days. So my weekends at the moment are just very long photo shoots, so that I can stock up for a week of new pictures! It's demanding but so far it's going well and I enjoy it very much.
How would you define your style?
People tell me it's very rock and I tend to agree. I love black, I often wear leather pieces.
Where do draw inspiration from?
Definitely from other blogs! I don't read magazines, I never have, for reasons similar to those why I started blogging. I feel like most magazines focus about making arty pictures but present clothes that are neither wearable nor affordable. Now some magazines do good shopping selections with "real life" items but I'm still happy with blogs only. There are so many and of so many different styles. I always find new ideas there.
And where do you like shopping?
Again, I do everything online! When I go to a store, it's only to pick up a piece that I targeted and checked in advance, and even then I can get tired of the noise and crowd! Online shopping on the other side can be quite time consuming, because you just spring from one idea to the next, but overall I find it much more enjoyable. I like when sites have wide selections, but I also like when they make it very easy and quick to find what you want.
