Aminta of Clothes & Fashion
How do you describe your style?
My style changes depending on my mood. What I love the most about fashion is that it has the power to transform you into anyone you want to be. Some days I want to be über glamorous, some days I want to be preppy and some days I don't even want to try. For the most part, though, I'd say I'm feminine, glamorous and sexy. Like we say in my native Venezuela, if you don't show it, you won't sell it!
What is the most exciting moment you've had as a blogger?
Definitely when people recognize me on the street and get nervous to talk to me, when the truth is I'm the nervous one! I never know what to say, except to mumble a "Thank you" and hope they're not disappointed with my outfit.
What do you love most about boutique shopping?
The whole experience seems a little like a treasure hunt. Shopping at a boutique is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're going to get, but it's usually something good and you know not everybody will have it.
What are your three most prized possessions?
I try not to get too attached to things because material things can be here one day and gone the next. There are, however, a few things I'm very fond of. My Coach bag because I bought it with my first ever paycheck (my dad did not approve). A set of pearl necklace and earrings I "borrowed" from mom, and my cell phone. My phone is my life. I handle about half of my blog's business through it. I'd rather lose a pair of shoes than lose my phone. No, wait. It depends on the shoes.
What inspired you to create your blog? What do you love most about blogging?
My friends have always asked me about style and beauty tips. I ran an underground eyebrow-tweezing business from my high school desk; that much is true. Blogging is a way for me to reach thousands of people in a short amount of time. What I love the most about it is the feedback I get from my readers. I know I'm not just some crazy lady sitting in her PJs writing about fashion from her kitchen table for nothing. Getting super dressed up on a daily basis is also a pretty sweet thing to do for a living.
What are your favorite boutiques in your current city?
I recently discovered 3NY in SoHo. They have very eclectic and fashion-forward items! I also love Hooti Couture in Park Slope for vintage finds. And I'm glad now I can shop while on my PJs at Shoptiques.com!
The color is so adorable; the pink belt is a plus. I would wear this with flats while hanging out with my girls!
