This is a calabash (aguata) that was originally sourced from Kenya. It has dried seeds in it. It produces a calming shooing sound when you shake it. The outside was hand dyed and burnt, covered in leather, shells, polymer seeds (made in Noblesville, Indiana) and seed beads. This percussion instrument was hand embellished in Benton County, Arkansas. It can sit on a flat or cushioned surface. Use it as wall decor or truly as an instrument to produce music. You decide.
