These pieces were handcrafted in Kenya using banana fiber (the dried bark of a banana tree). When the bark is dried under the sun, it gains various colors and textures. The various shades acquired are what help the pieces acquire dimension, texture and depth. These pieces were handmade by a woman. This piece depicts a tribal scene. Both the woman and the man have a shield as a sign of the protection they both provide and the significance of everyone's roll in society. The woman also has a basket, probably used for gathering. The man has a spear to hunt with and provide additional protection. Make this design yours today or gift it to a loved one. Decor says more about you than words ever will. Measurements: 12" by 16".
