These sandals were handcrafted in East Africa. They were handmade by artisans using leather (nothing goes to waste especially in food production. The animal hyde is turned into material for crafting) and tire tread is stripped from tires. The tread is also salvaged after tires as a form of recycling. The shoes were also hand beaded. What we love most about the sandals is that they are durable. Most of the sandals that are handmade in Kenya are worn for seven years easily. This saves you money and if you buy a design you love, it allows you to have it for a while before needing to replace or purchase another pair. Measurements: 10 1/2" long and 4" at the widest point. The sandal is made to fit a size 40 (Euro sizing), size 9 - 10 (US sizing). The sandals have velvet under the beadwork and all over the inner part of the sandal.
