The subtitle of this 252 page nonfiction book by David Romtvedt is "Essays from Four Mile Ranch", and it chronicles Romtvedt's experience helping his father in law maintain water windmills on an arid ranch in Wyoming, but it is more than that. The back cover says, "He uses the windmill as a metaphorical anchor to address contemporary issues, much the same way Thoreau uses Walden Pond. In his meditative descriptions, he discusses working to bring water to the dry land, bringing grace to himself and those around him." Each copy we sell is signed by the author.
