Closet Stashes and Boutique Finds
OK, so Halloween is officially tomorrow and whether you were inundated by intense weather and couldn’t get out to the store before the trains shut down, or you were just a little bit behind on the whole getting a costume thing, you’ve come to the right place.
The time has come and gone for online ordering, so now is the time to get creative and find something in your closet or in your neighborhood. Of course, that’s no problem. With the influx on brocade and printed trends hitting stores everywhere this year, there are two costumes that we’re willing to bet you already own: the flapper and the hippie.
Going back to these two traditionally costumes doesn’t have to be boring, either. Here, we show you how it’s done.

The Flapper
Put all your new brocade goods and gold duds to good use this Halloween and transform them back to the 1920s. Go big on the sparkly accessories, high on the nude colored heels, and big on the baroque design and you’ll be good to go for the classiest costume in town.
Don’t forget to add a headpiece to the look and simplify your makeup. Let the dress tell your time traveling story for you.

The Hippie
Heavily printed tunics and tops are not rare this season, so either pull one of your new frocks out of the closet and repurpose it or head to your local boutique to pick one up. The bolder the print and the looser the fit the better your hippie look will be.
Don’t forget fringe boots, a printed headscarf and bulky jewelry to really turn the time-tables back to the 70s.
