Why did you start your blog?
I've always, always wanted to work in fashion. I was trained as a graphic designer and started working in communication, but very soon I realized I need to do something related to fashion in addition to my daily work.
The wish for creation was the true starting point for my blog. I knit a lot and I'm learning so much about fashion over the years. Today, my creating need is still there. I knit a lot, so maybe one day I'll try to design a few items myself!
What inspires your writing?
In order to keep my blog very up-to-date, I need to always keep it on my mind. It's a habit I have, and it's actually very pleasant! I always walk around with a little notebook where I write down everything. I would like to write about: new designers, boutiques openings, I have an incredibly long list of things I want to check!
For most, I stumbled upon them while walking on the street and spending time inside boutiques talking to shop owners, but the Internet is a great source of information and inspiration for me.
Among her recent discoveries is Anne Thomas, a jewelry designer beautifully mixing gold with velvet, sold for instance by Matieres à réflexion.
What do you like most as a blogger?
I love constantly looking for new things, discovering, exploring and sharing! Meeting passionate people is definitely what I prefer about my blogging.
I found out about the brand Pagan Poetry about two years ago, and I became great friends with the designer, Diane.
Where do you like shopping in Paris?
I love Montmartre and Pigalle. To me, those neighborhoods are the real Paris, not open-air shopping malls with all the same stores from large chains you can find everywhere. And it's real life shopping. It's a mix of clothing and accessories with gourmet food, children's toys or home decorations.
I recently wrote a recommended shopping itinerary in the area with all my favorite local shops. It was fun to see how much my tastes are close to those of Shoptiques: I listed Paperdolls, Cancan and Vanina Escoubet as my favorite boutiques for clothes in the area, and they're all three on Shoptiques!
I love exploring boutiques, and I use my blogging to be able to spend a very long time inside talking to their owners. I regularly find out about new places, like this new boutique that just opened near Pigalle. It's really a place where you feel like staying. They organize events and afternoon teas, their selection is amazing and it's a good spot to hang out too!
What are your three most treasured possessions?
Number one is definitely my feather harness necklace by Pagan Poetry. I bought it two years ago and I wear it all the time.
I love jewelry, so other pieces I love can be found in this category, like Corpus Christi rings.
I'm also a big fan of boots, I've got so many I don't know where to put them. My favorite pair is by Georgy, a brand that makes boots in Morocco from Moroccan materials, and then imports them to France either selling online or organizing sample sales.
