Meet Melissa and Marie!
Shoptiques prepared a special offer exclusively for Seriously Marie-Françoise’s readers: go and visit their blog to find out more!
How did you start your blog?
Over the past few years, we spent a lot of time going to sample sales, pop-up stores, fairs and designers’ boutiques. Discovery after discovery, we managed to create a solid database. What’s more, our friends and families were constantly asking, “Where did you find this piece of jewelry?” This is how we got this idea to start our blog!
Who’s your audience?
Our blog is mainly to share a passion, our passion for designer jewelry: unique items you’d never see on any of your friends! Quality pieces, rare and with the power to give a distinctive final touch to your outfit. This blog is meant for all people passionate about fashion and style, but above all, for people looking for something unique, who can no longer stand wearing the same things as their neighbors.
What are the most beautiful things you discovered in relation to your blog?
Our most beautiful moments are all our encounters and sharing with designers, boutiques and e-shops, because of our common passion for jewelry. We also very much like to hear from a designer that she’s found a new distributor thanks to our website.
What are your favorite places for jewelry shopping in Paris?
We indeed have favorite areas like Bastille for instance where you’ll find many boutiques like So We Are or Cailles de Luxe as well as Emmaüs where we love looking for vintage pieces.
All our favorite Paris addresses are on our website and you’ll find many of Shoptiques’ boutiques among them such as Matières à Réflexion, Les Oiseaux, Territori, Simonne & Lisa B, Le Corner des Créateurs or La Fausse Boutique.
We love continuously finding out about new places!
Do you prefer buying in small boutiques, concept stores or directly from designers’ workshops?
We like them all. The choice is larger in boutiques but in showrooms and workshops you can learn more about the designer and also get customized hence truly unique pieces. It really depends on our mood. That’s what we also like: being able to pick and chose!
Have you ever bought jewelry in the US? What kind of clothes do you pair it with?
Mélissa: Yes last summer I bought a long triangle necklace in a thrift shop in Brooklyn. I wear it all the time! I wear it with my perfect combo, an ample tank and raw denim skinny jeans. Quite simply.
Marie: I still haven’t been to the US, though I’m planning to go and do a road trip there. However, I’m a huge fan of the brand The 2 bandits, from whom I bought a golden cuff that I love wearing with a silk top, old jean shorts and a woolen jacket found in a Parisian thrift shop.
