How would you describe your style?
JAMIE: I'm an East Coast transplant living in Los Angeles and my style is a hybrid of the two. I gravitate toward casual cool, but I always add some edge. My perfect outfit is a great pair of skinny jeans, a sequin cami and a killer pair of pumps.
MEL: My personal style is a combination of many things. While I'm a t-shirt and jeans type of girl, I do enjoy getting dolled up occasionally. I'm fascinated with DIYs and reinventing my wardrobe while staying current with trends.
Who are your style icons?
JAMIE: I'm a huge Monica Rose fan. She always adds some edge to everyone she styles and I rarely see anything she puts together that I wouldn't wear.
MEL: Carrie Bradshaw! She has the most fabulous shoe collection ever! Nicole Richie is also my style icon because she made a huge transformation in her life, and I admire that. Her fashion lines of apparel, shoes and accessories have been an inspiration to what I hope to accomplish.
What are your three most prized possessions?
JAMIE: My boyfriend bought me my very first Balenciaga bag and I carry it every day. (Mel has one in a different style and between the two of us, we're hooked!) I have a sequin dress by French Connection that makes me feel like a movie star every time I put it on. And my Sam Edelman Rosa pumps in nude are the perfect representation of my style—simple yet edgy.
MEL: My Balenciaga bag (my boyfriend thinks I love it more than him), my classic Manolo Blahnik heels and my Via Spiga handbag (first hand-me-down bag given to me by my mom).
What inspired you to create your blog?
JAMIE: Our site came about organically. Mel and I were running our own fashion blogs and attending events together. We were constantly asking each other "What are you going to wear?" Since a person’s outfit is directly informed by where they are going, we thought a site joining the two ideas made sense. The best part is being part of the fashion community and getting the opportunity to meet some amazing women who share our passion for fashion, beauty and lifestyle. I've made some really great friends.
MEL: The thought of starting our website came from our personal blogs. Fashion has always been a huge part of me, and I am so grateful to be able to attend amazing events, meet new people, and share my experiences through it.
