It’s hard to make a splash on the red carpet these days among a sea of screen sirens whose dresses are either slit-up-to-here or cut-down-to-there, but French film star Marion Cotillard succeeded with her impeccably proportioned look at the London premier of The Dark Knight Rises.
Always one to exude a high dosage of class, the fashion icon’s Dior Couture number (the first public outing for the Raf Simons-designed collection), represents a brand of sex appeal not typically touted by today’s starlet. The menswear inspired tweed and graphic houndstooth print of the stunningly chic three-quarter-length pencil skirt, offset by the feminine strapless bodice that revealed a soupçon of décolletage, hugged Cotillard’s curves in all the right places. The actress boldly chose to accessorize with bright red stilettos, clutch, and a crimson lip. The result—a sultry red carpet look that never crossed over into “flashy” territory.
