From the runway to the red carpet, the blogosphere and the street—florals have transcended trend territory to become a ubiquitous style staple. But is it possible to take a fashion risk with a look so tried and true? Dree Hemingway did just that when she slipped on this floral number from Marc Jacobs’ 2013 resort collection. Falling several inches below the knee, the flowery frock’s full-pleated skirt and loose, collared bodice are quaint but at the same time cool. And the pattern takes a refreshing direction, more abstract and akin to polka dots than garden-party pretty. Hemingway paired the dress with classic white kicks for an outfit that oozes ingénue from head to toe—and reads as fresh as a bouquet of just-cut blooms.
